He went on to study Chemistry at Mansfield University and marry the love of his life, Ida Thompson.  He had a long career at GTE in Towanda, PA where he earned 25 Patents for his discoveries and innovations.

Michael was a loving father to his four children.  He and Ida, figure skated and rollerbladed and were long time fans of the Elmira College Soaring Eagles hockey team.  He shared his passion for baseball by volunteering with the Towanda Little League as a coach and umpire.  He had a big heart and loved animals.  He would often be seen sharing snacks with his dogs.

He and Ida retired to Tucson, AZ and later Oxnard CA, trading hockey for sunshine and University of Arizona sports.
